Can you name the capital of all 11 countries of the Balkans?

The list is the ten countries Britannica says the Balkans usually comprise, plus Greece. Each round shows one of the 11 countries and its flag; type its capital. Wrong guesses can be tried again, there is no timer, and naming all 11 completes the run.

How to play

  1. Each round shows a country’s name and flag. Type its capital in the box below. Capital letters, accents and punctuation do not matter, and where a country has several capitals or a separate seat of government, any listed city is accepted, along with common alternative spellings.
  2. A correct answer is accepted by itself after a short pause and the next round begins. Press Enter to check any other answer.
  3. A wrong guess is marked so you can try again, as often as you like. There is no timer.
  4. Stuck? Press Finish to end the run: the answer is revealed and that country counts as missed.
  5. The 11 capitals of the Balkans come in shuffled order, each once. Your score counts up to 11 at the top of the board, and naming the last one completes the run. The answer review below the board lists every round.
  6. Your result is saved in this browser. Once enough people have played a game, the results also show how your score ranks, and you can copy or share an image of your result, or replay.
