Capital City Quizzes

26 capital quizzes: World Capitals covers all 197 countries (Guess the Capital asks about 183 of them), one quiz for each continent (Africa 54, Asia 49, Europe 45, North America 23, South America 12 and Oceania 14) and 6 regional quizzes: the Middle East (17), the Caribbean (13), Central America (8), Central Asia (5), Southeast Asia (11) and the Balkans (11). The regions follow Wikipedia for the Middle East, the UN M49 standard for the Caribbean, Central America, Central Asia and Southeast Asia and Britannica for the Balkans; each quiz page explains what is included.

12 more quizzes ask for the capitals inside one country: the US states (50), Canada (12), Mexico (19), Australia (8), India (32), Japan (17), Germany (13), France (13), Italy (19), Spain (14), Brazil (25) and China (27). Each page lists the places it asks about and the spellings it accepts.

In Guess the Capital you pick the capital from four cities; in the others you type it, and where a country has more than one capital or a separate seat of government, every listed city is accepted: 7 countries have more than one, such as South Africa (Pretoria, Bloemfontein or Cape Town) and Bolivia (Sucre or La Paz). Every game is free, needs no account and has no timer, and each one explains its rules and sources below the board.
