Can you name the capital of all 49 countries of Asia?
Each round shows a country of Asia and its flag; type its capital. Malaysia, Palestine and Sri Lanka have more than one accepted city and two capitals share their country’s name: Kuwait City and Singapore. Wrong guesses can be tried again, there is no timer, and naming all 49 completes the run.
How to play
- Each round shows a country’s name and flag. Type its capital in the box below. Capital letters, accents and punctuation do not matter, and where a country has several capitals or a separate seat of government, any listed city is accepted, along with common alternative spellings.
- A correct answer is accepted by itself after a short pause and the next round begins. Press Enter to check any other answer.
- A wrong guess is marked so you can try again, as often as you like. There is no timer.
- Stuck? Press Finish to end the run: the answer is revealed and that country counts as missed.
- The 49 capitals of Asia come in shuffled order, each once. Your score counts up to 49 at the top of the board, and naming the last one completes the run. The answer review below the board lists every round.
- Your result is saved in this browser. Once enough people have played a game, the results also show how your score ranks, and you can copy or share an image of your result, or replay.
Tips for playing
Think about the official capital rather than the best-known city: in this set, the capital of Türkiye is Ankara and the capital of Kazakhstan is Astana.

Frequently asked questions
How many capitals are in the Capitals of Asia quiz?
49, one for each country of Asia in the site’s 197-country list. Türkiye, Cyprus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan are counted in Asia, and Russia in Europe.
Which countries of Asia have more than one accepted capital?
Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur or Putrajaya), Palestine (Ramallah or East Jerusalem) and Sri Lanka (Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte or Colombo). Where a country divides its capital functions or has a separate seat of government, any listed city counts.
Which capitals share their country’s name?
Kuwait City (Kuwait) and Singapore (Singapore). Type the full name where the capital adds a word: “Kuwait” alone is not accepted for Kuwait City.
Do I need to type accents or punctuation?
No. Accents and punctuation are optional, so “Male” counts for Malé and “Sanaa” counts for Sana'a. Capital letters do not matter either.
What happens if I guess wrong?
Nothing is lost. The guess is marked and you can try again as often as you like. The run ends when you name all 49 or press Finish, which reveals the answer.
Where do the answers come from?
From the mledoze/countries dataset (Open Database License 1.0), adapted with accepted alternative spellings and seats of government and last reviewed in October 2026. The full list of accepted answers is below.

- Vietnam: Hanoi (Ho Chi Minh City is not accepted).
